Efficient HQ Layout

I have been challenging myself to build the tightest functional HQ possible; buildings clustered as closely as possible with minimal power paths between them. My question/discussion for the more... experienced Rock Raiders is this: What is the most space-efficient base possible to build? I am not opposed to placing power paths only to place a building (and then deleting it), but I want to see what others come up with. What is the smallest possible HQ?

This is how I usually do it. It's tight enough to fit into the starting cavern of Rock Hard. Add more buildings to the side as necessary.

Upgrade your Tool Store and place a Power
Path next to it. I placed mine offset so I could put all the buildings around
it, like this:

           ____
          |....|
          |.PP.|
 ____ ____|____|
|....|....|
|.TS.|.TS.|
|____|____|

The Teleport Pad would be north of the Tool Store adjacent to it. The Power
Station would "wrap" around the Power Path, and the Support Station would be
north of the Power Station, so the whole thing would look like this:

           ____ ____
          |....|....|
          |.SS.|.SS.|
 ____ ____|____|____|
|....|....|....|....|
|.TP.|.TP.|.PP.|.PS.|
|____|____|____|____|
|....|....|....|....|
|.TS.|.TS.|.PS.|.PS.|
|____|____|____|____|

That is quite compact. I will have to try it out. My base currently fits in a 6x6 area, I was wondering if it got any more tight than that.

I guess if you really want to be ultra-compact, you don't need the Teleport Pad if you've got all the vehicles you want already: all you really need is the Tool Store, Power Station, and Support Station. If you were feeling ultraconfident I guess you could teleport up your Tool Store (which also prevents slugs from doing anything annoying as drained crystals can no longer be output anywhere thus they aren't output), only leaving you with a Power Station and enough Support Stations for all your raiders: which you can fit in basically any five squares you can find (assuming just one Support Station).

Also, that's some nice ASCII work there Cirevam! It's the exact same method I used when I pondered this question so long ago (... literally 10 years ago?) Maybe it's just Lake of Fire rubbing off on me, but there's something so pleasing about the Teleport Pad sitting next to & in the same orientation as the Tool Store, so it's nice to fit that in too.
