mods please implement this emote here so it is not lost forever, tia

I second this. :P

The LMBs were the first online forum I ever used, and I was once very active on there... I even got interviewed by the moderators at the height of my activity. It's a bit sad to see them go...

You wish.

Archived this page on the Wayback Machine to double-ensure it being archived in case that image later gets removed. :P

(By the way I have no idea what it is about that topic you want to forget, I'm just going on an archiving spree right now. :P)

I was starting to worried that it had been lost forever, but apparently not!

I was never active on the message boards but I definitely browsed them a little at times. It's a bit sad to see another piece of the LEGO website from your childhood disappearing, but such is life.

Quisoves Potoo

Sic transit stultitia mundi...

Much as the historical-pack rat in me would like to see them stay, I can't blame LEGO for closing  the LMBs. Aside from them being the lackadaisical cesspool they presently are, they require lots of time and money to do what plenty of folks will happily do for free nowadays. This wasn't the case for much of their lifespan, obviously, but now any chucklehead can create a LEGO fan forum gratis, using ProBoards or some such software.

And as others have already remarked, it will be amusing to see the squirming, foaming tide wash up on the shores of Eurobricks, BZPower, et al. Especially seeing as that first one is age-restricted...

Salvage stuff from the LEGO Message Boards?

,,,Nah, I think I'll let my "Legends of Chima" story-thing sink into the eternal abyss.

(I wanted to link it, but it turns out I removed the LMB link because apparently it was "disrespectful to [someone] who died", or something(???). But eh, you're not missing out on anything.,it' was a long, boring, pile of cr** anyway.)

Out of curiosity, what was your username on the LMBs?

EDIT: Also, @Terrev, archived both of your user profiles, because why not. :P

The lego website my is earliest memory of the internet, from back in the 90s, and the very first version of the LMB was my first experience of talking to people online and being part of a community like that.... and online communities are something that have had an enormous impact on the path my life has taken and the opportunities I've had. While I haven't posted on the LMB for probably 15 or 16 years and everything I did post disappeared a long time ago, I can still trace back a lot of the things that have happened in my life back to that terrible little forum. So it's a shame to see it go. I'm still not over ibricks closing tbf.

Y'know, it's been about half a day now and I still don't have a suitable reaction to this. However, I think

I've stuck around on the LMB's in just one topic for the past several years after my interest mostly fizzled out, but it'll be a very different site now. Not much reason to even have an account there anymore without MLB/Club Pages, game leaderboards, multiplayer games, really no reason to have repeat traffic to the site now. I'm guessing their traffic will plummet this summer after it closes.
