lol username
In June 2012, LEGO announced the LEGO Brand House, a museum and experience center to be constructed in Billund where visitors will be able to learn pretty much anything they want about the history and core values of LEGO. It's sort of like the existing LEGO Idea House in concept, but will be open to the public. Now it has been announced that Bjarke Ingels, a Danish architect known for his creative and ambitious projects, is designing the LEGO Brand House. He's also meeting with AFOLs to learn more about LEGO, and says the museum will focus on the cultural impact of LEGO as well as LEGO artwork, so this is sure to be one heck of a place once it's completed. Now who's got plane tickets to Denmark? Sources: Architect Magazine eagleeyedan and STUDZ
Olivus Prime
Wow, this sounds brilliant! Didn't even know they were working on such a place. I hope they put a decent amount of effort into the "museum" aspect - most official works these days either get the facts wrong when talking about older themes/periods, or do a timeline along the lines of "LEGO is founded, LEGO brick made, Minifigure made, FRIENDS RELEASED, NEW FOR 2012!"
