Fush's Star Fox vehicles

Well it seems this is no longer just an Arwing, now that I've made a Lanmaster as well.

I'll be making more SF vehicles, and put them here as I do.

I'll edit this first post to be more like a table-of-contents at some point.

For now I've just put the Arwing in a spoiler.

A single picture of my Landmaster can be found further down the page.

Well here we go.

LEGO Star Fox, anyone?

I decided to try and make an Arwing in LDD.

It's mostly based on the 64 design.

I wanted to do an Assult-style arwing, but they are a little more complicated so I went with this instead.

let's take a closer look, shall we?

This is the back. Obviously.

Here's a close-up of the cockpit.

The radar changed a few times.

Previously it was this:

I'm not sure which I like better.

There's a laser on the front-bottom, which you couldn't see in the previous shot.

The wings are on hinges,

Which let them be adjusted, as the do in-game.

Here's another shot of the cockpit:

The minifigure was included simple so I could get the cockpit the right size.

He's just a simple figure with no quirks, but I did color him to resemble Fox's outfit.

The cockpit does fit a minifigure without any headgear or with a small wig,

but helmets or other larger headgear won't fit.

I'll try to fix that.

You can see that the handles aren't quite being gripped, since trying to do so causes the entire model to spaz out.

LDD is weird like that.

This model is NOT final, there things I want to fix.

Even since taking these screens I've made a few small adjustments.

Can you spot the differences?

For the most part, I'm satisfied with how the hull? came out, but the two engines on the sides are not how I want them.

I will eventually get it right.

I liked doing this, and I'm (mostly) proud of the result, so I think I'll keep going.

I want to make some other Star Fox vehicles now.

Not sure which one yet.

Maybe a Landmaster, maybe a Wolfen.

There are plenty of enemy ships to choose from,

plus all the ships from Command.

But one things for sure, I'm not going ANYWHERE NEAR the Great Fox.

I'd love to be able to make that, but I know I'd never finish it.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any feedback, and expect more (small-scale) models in the near future.

That is all.

I can see the ressemblance with the arwing as far as I know (6 years since I Iast flew one ingame). Can you also put printings on the aircraft with this program (like stickers), I thought it had some logo on one of the wings (or I am mistaking it with the Great Fox). As for the engines, I guess it must be harder to build them in this program than in real life.

I can spot a difference, you added a transred round brick on the thruster.

Yeah, there are some logos/decals on the in-game model, but I don't know any way to replicate them in LDD. Wish I could.

Also, I guess I should post a pic for reference, huh?

This is the best pic I could find because Google is dumb now.

Searching "Arwing" got me more pictures of LEGO Arwings than actual in-game Arwings,

and it made me sad because

A. I see how unoriginal this is and

B. Most of them are a lot better than mine.

BTW, thanks for replying.

The model looks great! Only one small thing I'd try to change:

The blue parts need to be more long and pointed. If you can fix this then you have a perfect replica of the Arwing.

And maybe... Could you do the Landmaster and a mini-model of the Great Fox?

I see what you mean, and I'mma try to fix that. I think I'm going to redo the blue engines entirely, and when I do I'll be sure and make them pointy-er.

Thanks for the kind words^^

You mean macro-model, right?

I think he meant mini-model, as in minikit, as in smaller-than-minifig-scale.

And maybe... Could you do the Landmaster?

YES.

I only have the one picture at the moment, I'll post more later.

I think I really screwed up the cockpit but the engines look nice.

Might distribute the .xlf later.

The Ace Railgun

I really screwed up the cockpit

That's actually not too bad...although you could probably replace the square pieces with rounder ones and it would look a little less chunky.
