Recently, as seen in the news, LEGO’s gaming division has been trying to fully get into the mobile games market and the first available for download is LEGO Tower.
PLEASE note the game is only in a beta state, so things are changing still.
I’d state this is decent for idle playing, allowing the player to mess around when they are waiting for something/have some extra time with not much to do. The missions, connected to the vehicles are decent, if not sometimes amusing with things like an escaped parrot taking its perch with it when it escapes or a pizza losing a living chicken topping.
Another favorite thing is the unlockable character parts, with them you can customize yourself and your citizens and most fortunately the character part selection only continues to grow.
Also of note, the game has several references to older themes like castle and classic space, making it very interesting for older LEGO fans.
The general graphics style is basic, but decent for a mobile game. I’m especially liking how the floors work modularly, feeling that the style of building the tower uses would be not only great for the gameplay, but also building in real life. I even recreated a floor as test for later on.
Ease of Play: 7/10
Overall decently explained, the tutorials do somewhat slow the gameplay down and become unavailable afterwards, though the game is fairly simple in concept so that should work in most players favor as there isn’t too much of a refresher need.
Overall I feel this has a good start outside of the tutorials and l'm looking forward to seeing where this heads in the future.
