howdy, I'm somewhat bored and I've decided to make a blog on here! I don't have anything really intresting to say, but I'm gonna talk a bit about undertale (no spoilers)

ok so, I'm doing a pacifist run, right???? I did the second to last boss and was a dumbutt and used most of my healing food

now I'm at the final boss, with no money to buy more recovery items, and I still don't know what to do with all the dog residue i have??????

anyways, besides that I also wanted to say that if you haven't played undertale, and are planning to, don't watch anything or read up on anything about it -- it's an experience that you definitely need to experience firsthand and let's plays/livestreams/whatever kind of ruin the magic you'll go in without knowing alot

also the music is fantastic like wow it's the most varied soundtrack I've seen from a 8-bit "retro" game

I'm hyped for undertale and have really high expectations at this point. I just need to convince myself to spare the next 10 dollars I get to spend on the game and not, you know, legos

It's worth it, i haven't had as great as an experience with another game like I have with undertale, atleast not recently.

and if you're curious about the soundtrack, you dont spoil much listening to it just dont look at the comments lol

it cleverly hides itself as an 8bit retro rpg but It really is a completely different idea entirely, my description of the game isnt giving it enough justice

Honestly, Undertale doesn't look like a magnificent masterpiece to me. But then again, I've never played earthbound and I'm not interested in that either. But I'm sure earthbound fans, or just RPG fans in general, will enjoy this game.

I think If I keep talking I'll seem to look like a rabit fanboy, lol. but I'll just stop with all the undertale discussion when I say this, I'm not really into the oldschool final fantasy type of RPG, but I thoroughly enjoyed playing through, and you can do a run without killing a single enemy (hence, doing a pacifist run) and It's pretty intresting too. every encounter with an enemy feels like a puzzle you have to solve, trying to figure out how to get the enemy not wanting to fight and then spare them. It's a nice intresting change of pace.

it's honestly up to you if you're intrested in the game at all, though.

I'm not much of a videogame guy so yeah I'm really only interested from a storytelling perspective. That seems to be the games specialty and its going to be what I'm looking for when I play.

"8-bit"... meh.

>discounting undertale for being "8-bit"
>undertale
>"8-bit"

seriously, this thing mercilessly deconstructs and subverts the tropes and audience expectations of RPGs/JRPGs, especially "retro" ones. your loss.

anyway, yeah, fantastic game, easily in my top 3. totally changed my opinion on what role narrative can play in a video game.

update: I just finished the pacifist run

wow, that was a wild turn.

worth it though, really heartwarming.

and yeah, I heavily agree with jammester, It's a great experience if you have little to no experience with the RPG genre (like me) but it's also a very, very pleasant surprise for veterans of the RPG types, where it plays on your expectations, it probably wouldn't affect the experience much. but it does add those tiny little sprinkles that make it just a bit better.

spoiler:

I also love how the the later the game is, it becomes more like you're fighting against the game. you haven't seen that in a videogame yet.

your loss.

Not really. I'd die from over 8-bit exposure.

If it is really great, I might still take a look eventually, but 8-bit generally doesn't suit my fancy, especially if the music is hardcore 8-bit. I've checked the OST and it is mostly bearable for me.

Hey, it's your preference man. but I will say that there are some legit amazing tracks (with no chiptune or 8-bit that's easily audible)
