A couple days ago StewartG asked me to make the main theme for Rock Raiders 2, so I decided to upload it so that everyone can hear it, as a preview. Feedback and suggestions for improvement are very much appreciated.

So yeah, I might be making the music for this game. It depends on what Stewart decides. :)

I like it!! - I would have to agree with Maelstrom though, it's a bit too quiet, and doesn't have a well enough defined melody to be a main theme. Perfect for a title/menu screen though.

I like it, I think it has the right atmospheric feel for the game, I felt underground in a dark damp cavern with ominous overtones, but it is definitely a level background music rather than a main title tune, and as level music it needs to loop rather than fade out. ShadowBlaze,  as an improvement idea, if you are interested, and I understand this is more ambitious, I have thought for some time about making the music in a game more interactive with the situation or environment. Music plays a huge part in setting the users experience in a film, it creates an emotional response that the user feels.  I imagine a track that would match this music but only be triggered  when an enemy is nearby, so it would play a heavier 'sinister; music but only when 'danger' was about. Then imagine another track which matched the music but had a mechanical or industrial feel which we would trigger only when you were close to the base. Or a 'water' track to be played when you were near the water, or perhaps a 'low power' track, What do you think?

re: but if you ask LEGO to completely sponsorize your project you wouldn't need to stay generic. Lego are interested in sponsoring their new product ranges, they gain nothing from promoting a product they no longer sell.

Yeah, maybe naming it Main Theme wasn't a smart idea. I made this thinking about the title music, I named the video like this just because "Main Menu" seemed kinda unattractive. My bad. :P I already have an idea for the main theme, a funky thing like the first game's one.

The music loops, in the video it fades away just because putting the plain file in wouldn't sound very nice to the listener.

I think that music should stay one for each level, and maybe change depending on situations such as your oxygen supply being almost finished, or a big swarm of enemies approaching the base. Still, I wanted to make the music more or less tense, or have different feels depending on how the level will be, making the alternatives I mentioned above unnecessary. Sound effects and drones should fix the remaining issues. Also, I have nearly finished two musics already: they are very atmospheric, with lots of melodies and sounds but put in a way that they aren't invasive. That's how I think this game's sountrack should be, energetic but very ambiencey.

hi shadowblaze: re: I was thinking that maybe you could make the game in first person mode, but have that a key opens a new screen with a view like the one in LRR, where you can scroll around the level and build the stuff there.  I would intend to have the option to be first or third person at anytime, rather than restrict this choice.
