Introducing myself... again?

So, recently I realized that when I originally joined I didn't actually introduce myself at all in the New Members subforum (actually, I think I just joined and then forgot about RRU for a while, and then I rediscovered it several months later), and because I now have this shiny new Blog, I thought I'd actually write a bit about myself even though you all know who I am. Anyway, enjoy! Or try to at least... So, hello there, My name is Ayliffe! If you're wondering how to pronounce that, it's

All About Fred.

So, if you've been on the shoutbox recently or seen me on twitter you may have noticed me shouting quite a lot about someone called 'Homepride Fred' and his increasing creepiness, but I've never really explained anything about him. Hopefully this blog post should show you what all the fuss is about. 50 years ago, Homepride started using 'Homepride Fred', a small animated character in a suit who starred in all of their ads, and was unbelievably successful (Seriously, the amount of merchandis

Chips: the next generation...

So, if you didn't know I went to Legoland Windsor on tuesday, and I generally had a good time, but when we tried to order some ordinary chippy chips from a small cafe, this is what we recieved: Yeah, we got a thing called "Lego fries". I was not expecting this at all. Really, I was expecting some nice, ordinary chippy chips to arrive on my table for me to devour/eat. But no, we got these things. They were so hillariously stupid that I had to create a comic about them, and thats what I did

A game idea wot Ayliffe came up with

So, this afternoon on the Skype group I mentioned an idea for a 2D sidescrolling lego fangame that's been in my head for a while, and then I proceeded to literally just blurt out all the ideas and such I had for it for no real reason other than the fact I found it quite interesting. I can't really be bothered to reword all of my abstract thoughts into something more sensible, so here's the chat log for your enjoyment:   So, any thoughts about these ideas wot I had?

Ayliffe Makit Productions - The new Channel Trailer!

I was initially gonna hold off on posting this trailer for a couple of days, but it's such an exciting event for me that I'm posting it today. Wondering what I could be possibly talking about? Well, it's this: the brand spanking new channel trailer for my rebooted channel, Ayliffe Makit Productions! I've been working on this for a while, so it'll be great to get some feedback on the future direction of my channel. Anyways, without further ado, here's the first channel trailer:

wow   so   I've been here three years huh   Exactly one year ago I told you all how I ended up here in the first place, but this year... I haven't really got much to say actually. We've had some good times and some bad times in the last year, but the one thing that definitely hasn't changed is my relationship with this forum and how much I love it so. Everyone here is nice and for once on the internet it feels like I belong somewhere, and that sense of belonging is

Mr Phoenix: 'SCOTLAND'

The Scottish referendum: an event so crucial that no-one in the UK was allowed to talk about anything else at all for about two weeks. No, seriously. :P

Two years ago, a day after RRU's 6th anniversary and 9 days before my birthday, I first shoved my ugly mug 'ole in the general direction of this site, and joined because - Well, actually I've never said on here the real reason why I joined in the first place. Mainly because it was so downright silly.  I joined to look at... a topic with a nyan cat mod for racers. Really. When I first navigated my way here as a member of the LMBs (that stopped very soon after), I was a bit of a n00b to be hones
