Omina
I've been playing IXS on my Windows 10 machine with no problems whatsoever, but now whenever I try to load my saved game it hangs and gives me the "Game.exe has stopped working" message. I had already copied the cd and cdc folders from the disc to the game directory and created a shortcut that points to them in the target field, and fixed it by copying those folders again and replacing them. But for no reason whatsoever it's stopped working again and I don't know what else to do. I've tried applying the IPS patch that other threads have linked to, but that causes the game to simply not open at all, regardless of compatibility settings. If I go to the Options menu and try to adjust the volume, or start a new game, it still crashes. I thought it may be something to do with the sound files as when I adjust the volume it crashes right when you would normally hear the Director saying "Cut, thanks everyone!", so copy-pasting the game folders again made sense when I first tried it but now it just doesn't work. lol username
This is gonna sound weird, but: Try forcing vsync on. High framerates can screw with how the game loads/saves things. I used to have problems like this aaaaall the time, but vsync fixed it. Hasn't crashed like that ever since.

I've tried that + setting the monitor technology to "Fixed Refresh" as opposed to G-SYNC and the monitor refresh rate to "Application Controlled", but it hasn't worked. Not weird at all though - I probably should've mentioned that I used RivaTuner Statistics Server to limit the framerate to 60, but was getting drops so upped it to 120 (I have a 144hz monitor + a GTX 1080). I barely had issues running the game even without caps save for one time when the game glitched out completely upon loading Wave Catcher.
Omina
Alright, I managed to fix it... until I opened the game up for the third time after installing. I reinstalled the game, copied the cd and cdc folders from the CD, set compatibility to Windows XP Service Pack 3 and then the game ran. Quit the game so I could force V-sync and limit the FPS to 60, and played a good hour on it until I had to quit to go do something else. Now whenever I load the save game I made after I'd reinstalled, it will either run fine until you talk to someone or it just crashes right upon loading the save when you would normally hear the DJ talk. So it must be something to do with the audio files, even though I did zilch between playing it for the second time and starting it up the third time...
