Im running windows 7 64 bit, whenever i try to open the game, it goes black for 1 sec and then closes, nothing happends, no sound and nothing opens in task manager...

i tried:

Running in compalitible mode (win 2000, win 95/98 and as a Administator) and again same problem..

running a virtual win xp machine in vmware, same problem..

Im using ATI Crossfire and the original CD

Someone please help a fellow RockRaider! xD

Does your game run diskless? Check the size of the .icd file in the installation folder. If it's 0, then your game runs diskless. If it's not 0, then you need the disk to run.

Grab the open LegoRR1.wad, open the .cfg with text editor of your choice (Notepad WILL suffice for now) and find "DontPlayAVIs" at around line 100. Set that to TRUE. Save the cfg and recompile LegoRR1.wad (don't forget that last bit). If that doesn't work... try running it in it could help...

Cyrem knows more specific version numbers, but any ATI/AMD GPU driver released in the last few years absolutely break LRR, with no fix found at all. If this is your case, I don't know of anything you can do. :(

Which part in particular?

What are you using to launch the game?

Try running it straight off the .exe, and don't use the "Standard" or "Advanced" shortcuts.

Now that also sounds like the videos are being silly, so you WILL need to do what I said a little earlier:

Grab the open LegoRR1.wad, open the .cfg with text editor of your choice (Notepad WILL suffice for now) and find "DontPlayAVIs" at around line 100. Set that to TRUE. Save the cfg and recompile LegoRR1.wad (don't forget that last bit).

not quite sure but the game opens now...

Im starting the game straight off the exe.

Grab the Wad Recycler, open LegoRR1.wad, open the .cfg with text editor of your choice (Notepad WILL suffice for now) and find "DontPlayAVIs" at around line 100. Set that to TRUE. Save the cfg and recompile LegoRR1.wad (don't forget that last bit).

Do you mean that i have to change it in both files?  or just the wad file?

And how long does the Wad Recycler have to processing the LegoRR1.wad file?... Its been setting like that for one and a half hour now....

WHAT THE

! Grapheme!

This is the second time something has CRASHED HORRIBLY while using the Wad Recycler!

HALP

Anyway, to try and find a solution I'll just grab an original LegoRR1.wad, do what needs to be done, and send it off to ya. Watch this space.

EDIT: http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/233 Here you are. Extract the .zip, grab the LegoRR1.wad file inside and replace your other LegoRR1.wad.

Just after the loading is done  :(

I start the game whit the exe and im using the                            RGB Emulation Microsoft Direct3D RGB Software Emulation                         and in full screen since I can`t open it in Window Mode

I start the game whit the exe and im using the <large amounts of spaces? RGB Emulation Microsoft Direct3D RGB Software Emulation <more spaces>

1) What do those spaces mean? Why are they there?

2) So... what are you using? Don't use RGB Emulation. Try Direct3DHAL, which should work better.

  Aha.

"Would?" Surely "wouldn't?" I'm confused... again. l405G.jpg What are you using, and what is the result?

Wait a minute... earlier you said

Now the game opens and start perfectly but the game is still closing whenever i try to start a mission.

...and now you say it won't start at all? What'd you change in the meantime? (It's about two posts up).

Also, sadly I think le717 is correct:

Im using ATI Crossfire and the original CD

The game will only start whit RGB Emulation.

Also, sadly I think le717 is correct:

hmm okay then i think i just give up now... But thanks anyway for the help ;)

The game will only start whit RGB Emulation.

and that has never helped anybody in the history of RRU. l405G.jpg No wonder, you had me confused. I'm quite surprised you even got as far as the level select screen: mine doesn't like even the main menu. l405G.jpg

But yes, if you're using Direct3DHAL and have a Radeon graphics card... there's not much you can do. :|

(and yes it has taken me a good ten posts to get this when I could have nicked it off the original topic post but hey, I tried l405G.jpg)

I had this problem too, but I fixed it. Right click your desktop and click AMD Catalyst Control Center (If available). Go to the tab Picture scaling and turn GPU scaling on. This fixed it for me! I also followed the steps by Grapheme:

Other solutions to try for problems

  • Run the game with compatibility mode for Windows 98 or Windows XP. Turn on 'Disable Visual Themes' and 'Disable Desktop Composition'.
  • Run the game in administrator mode.
  • Run the game in windowed mode.
