Edeholland
Hello! My name is Edeholland, but you can call me Mark if you want to. My brother, Yourself, told me about this forum. When I found out it's about all the classic Lego games, it seemed like just the place for me. I am currently unable to play Rock Raiders on my computer, since it has Windows 8. But I figured you guys probably know about this issue and may have a solution. I would love to know what is happening regarding a possible RR2 or other old and new Lego games, so I will probably be browsing a lot of forums for the next couple of hours. If you have anymore question, feel free to ask!

Jimbob
You've stumbled upon one of those distant reaches of the Internet that few have been privileged to discover. This wonderful community, hidden in the depths of the corners of the alleys of the Internet, shines like a powered Energy Crystal into the darkness of the world around it, for its most active members are excellent people worthy of much more esteem than their member rank suggests. Great people live in this little hidey-hole in the nether regions of the Internet. Yet this community is not without its darker side. As you become more engaged in the community, you will slowly start to lose yourself in it. The more you indulge in the habits of Rock Raiders United, the more they become you. And before you realise what is happening - it's too late. Your soul has been inexplicably entwined into the heart of the community, ensnaring you such that you may never leave. Very few cadets have fully immersed themselves in this land and managed to leave it behind them later, for it is such a beautiful place that it envelopes you until you never wish to leave. So, if you are afraid of entering a place you may never leave... Turn back now. Run. Forget this small region of the Internet, tell no one of its existence, and save Yourself. But if you are drawn to the friendly atmosphere here, if you love old LEGO games or otherwise enjoy one of this community's many branches, then please stay. You will not regret it. le717
...yeah, I couldn't think up any other ideas for an interesting welcome. Take notes, Ben. Jimbob's post is a great lesson on coming up with interesting and original greetings. Welcome Edeholland. I've seen your brother around. Hope you enjoy your stay. :)
aidenpons
Surely this means Yourself gets the Referrer Award? Anyway, welcome to RRU. As Jimbob said, if you don't mind flashy balls, rants about FP, and abusing the tongue smiley, then you'll probably find quite a nice place here. If you can't get RR working and don't have a Radeon, we'll help you out (if you DO have a Radeon, you're stuck). You've stumbled upon one of those distant reaches of the Internet that few have been privileged to discover A new forum has been discovered... I am currently unable to play Rock Raiders on my computer, since it has Windows 8 Hmm. Major lag is the problem? Unless you've got a Radeon graphics card (run Dxdiag by pressing Win+R, and then typing in "Dxdiag" (without quotes) and hitting "Run" and it'll tell you what graphics card you've got) you should be able to get it working. Edeholland
Wow, thanks for the responses! A warm welcome indeed. I am willing to lose myself to this forum and the beautiful games and mods within it, as I have been lost in the whole Lego series for over 10 years now. Hope I can be a valuable part of this forum! I have got RR to work with cafetaria in windowed mode, but 640x480 is not really the resolution to play comfortably in. Is there perhaps a way to enlarge the screen while keeping the same resolution? Something that works apart from RR? Or is a big laggy, windowed mode the only option?

With Cafeteria, you can select the resolution you desire and Cafeteria will load the game in that resolution for you. On the Launcher tab, there's a drop-down list labelled "Resolution." Yeah, I have found out how I can play the game in a low resolution. The thing is, playing in a low resolution is very annoying, especially since your mouse can run out of the screen. When I select a bigger resolution, the game starts to lag so bad, it is not playable anymore.
aidenpons
When I select a bigger resolution, the game starts to lag so bad Oh, that's what you meant. A low resolution isn't too bad: I've kept mine on the same 640x480, but that's because I like windowed. Anyway, I don't know what you can do about it, but you could talk to about it, who made Cafeteria and is generally a LRR expert.
