I've never made gifs from mp4s before and I don't think I will do it again.

How did you do that, may I ask? I've got an unrelated video that I'd like to GIF-ify sometime.

In any case, I've done an animated GIF screenshot before, but I didn't record a video and then turn the video into a GIF, rather, I recorded it with a program called LICEcap which automatically saved the recording as a GIF image. Easier than doing an extra step dealing with a video file, but the program has other shortcomings that make it a bit difficult to work with, so try it if you want but I wouldn't necessarily recommend.

How did you do that, may I ask?

I trimmed the video down to the clip I needed, then I think I used http://image.online-convert.com/convert-to-gif

I then shoved the resulting gif into GIMP and chose "Filters -> Animation -> Optimize (Difference)" to cut the file size down a bit.

I only used GIMP because I already had it installed. There's probably better tools out there.

Aww poop... I just realised that I put this in the Island 1 subforum instead of the Island 2 one.
