Has anyone seen this ever?

LINK: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=511982

The differences I see are that in the first one, the Infomaniac is up close to the screen, which I never remember happening.

In the second one, the installer has that note at the top right, and it only has 3 minifigures. Also, I never remember a "READ ME" minifigure.

In the last one, the water looks different, and so does the island by a little bit. I never remember the Octan sign and the "I" to teleport to the Information Center is green instead of red.

edit: Oh wait, jamesster posted these. Is there already a topic on this :/

... Yep, that's one of my Brickshelf folders. And if you're curious as to where the installer image is from: http://www.lugnet.com/pause/techzone/games/legoisland/index.html The "note" is just a caption from the article (they edited them into the images), and it's identical to how it looks in the final game before installing - except the center minifigure with the skeleton head, they changed that.

Oh, and I didn't upload these to the gallery, but I don't recall there being a helicopter landing pad texture on the ground near the jail in the final game:

Fluffy Cupcake

but I don't recall there being a helicopter landing pad texture on the ground near the jail in the final game:

Well you certainly recall right my friend! I'm 100% sure there is none. I studied the island carefully when making it in MC, so I know.

Yes, but while recording a glitchvideo, I found in the intro, at the helicopter, there is a target sign!

That's because the island version from the cutscene is slightly different to the island from the final game.

EDIT: I compared the game version to the intro version. The differences are bigger than I remembered :D

Can you list some of the differences?

You do realize that the intro was pre-rendered with a very high poly version of the island while the game was still a WIP in progress and wasn't meant to look exactly like the island in the game by any means.

I wish LEGO Island lived up to it's full expectations. No tv show, the 5 cancelled games, LEGO Island has a bunch of plotholes...

I wish LEGO Island lived up to it's full expectations. No tv show, the 5 cancelled games, LEGO Island has a bunch of plotholes: all because Mindscape fired LEGO. Actually, it wasn't Mindscape firing LEGO. The day before the release of LI, Mindscape fired all the staff who had worked on LI to avoid having to give them all bonuses for the successful development and release of LI. LEGO simply privately contracted an outside company, Mindscaoe to design and develop LEGO Island and it wasn't the other way abound with Mindscape hiring LEGO so obviously Mindscaoe couldn't "fire" LEGO.

When the informaniac is close up in the first image he looks pre-rendered, or it could just be the quality of the image screwing me up.

It also appears that the sky was a bit more like LEGO Racers and had more than one color.

I like the beta water better, never did like the bright sky-blue water in the finished game.

Here is a link to a review from before the game was out: http://www.lugnet.com/pause/techzone/games/legoisland/index.html
