LEGO Chess won't start, Win7-64b

4 posts in this topic

After the pain of getting Chess to install on a 64-bit machine, I finally did it (correctly too, no copying files), and opened it eager to run - and it crashes instantly. White screen, then crash. Refuses to run. What am I doing wrong?
I also tried installing it on an XP VM. It works there... until I turn on Fraps, and then it crashes as soon as fraps starts recording. What gives here, too?

I've tried everything I know to get Chess to run on my Windows 7 machine.

I've even manually edited registry entries. No dice. I either get a "Please insert the LEGO Chess CD" message. (even though the disc is infact in the drive) or a completely blank error message.

There's a patch you can find to fix that issue, but it seems to screw up cutscenes. And I still can't even run it on 64-bit machines after doing all that.
