Help to test something

If everyone could run this test for me and post results, that would be awesome.

Download the file, put it anywhere. Run LegoRR.exe, wait till the launcher window appears. Select the copy protection type, then start the test (while launcher window is open) and click on "run".

Your exe file must be named LegoRR.exe, so change it if you changed it.

Thanks.

I'm assuming "Launcher window" is the Mode selection window that pops up before the actual games starts. If so here's the results:

Test 1: 0

Test 2: 800

Thank-you.

What is the creation date and size of your LegoRR.exe?

Here are my results:

Test 1: 0
Test 2: 0

Creation Date: 27/09/1999 (at 11:42 AM :D)
Size: 273KB

Two 0s doesn't imply I ran it incorrectly, does it?

I did the loading screen with both tests and this is what I got:

Test 1:640

Test 2:14200

My creation date is 2 days BEFORE the other ones (September 25, 1999)

Size: 719kb

EDIT: I think I did it wrong...

EDIT 2: Ran it on the launcher, got same numbers.

0 and 720. I've moved my versions around a bit so it says 2012. If I can find an original i'll update this. 9/27/1999, 736768 bytes (719KB). I assume you're going to tell us what these mean eventually.

I am positive this is related to Cyrem's LRR modding breakthrough (HD Mod)...

I would help you Cyrem, but as I've said who knows how many times now, I do not own Rock Raiders, so I cannot test it. Sorry.

I'm about 90% certain this is relating to his HD mod.

I'm awaiting my new disc to arrive soon. I'll get back to you when it's here.

Evidently it won't work for me.

Well, it may in other tests, I'm just seeing if my changes have allowed some who I know it wouldn't before, to work.

what is your highest monitor resolution?

Currently 1600x900 with dual monitors.

EDIT: I've changed the color depth to 16 bit and selected window on the launcher. Cyrembot says it might work now.

Cyrem says it won't work for me and this makes me sad. Modified September 25 1999, size 719KB

Neither 1680x1050 + 1920x1080 or 1024x768 computer makes it work. Well darn.

It's still coming up negative on the Thinkpad with 16bit colour selected, but I'll have to try in the morning on my main desktop because while the game starts just fine off a SAMBA share I don't know if your tests like that.

OK here is Experiment #3

https://ore.rockraidersunited.org/legacy/LRRTest3_454096.zip

Type in your monitor resolution width and height then run test. LEAVE 640x480 SELECTED ON THE LRR MODE SELECT WINDOW. After that, press OK on the launcher window.

When the game starts, look at the position of the loading bar, is it in it's normal position? (it will crash at the end of loading screen)

If everything is the same as normal, run the game with the -debug parameter and try again.

Also tell me if it crashes before the game even starts.
