Save Files...

Weird. Mine are in:

C:/Program Files (x86)/LEGO Media/Games/Rock Raiders/Data/Saves for 64 bit win vista/7.

For 32 bit, it's the same, only without (x86).

Then again, I own everything...So...The path you probably have is...

username/appdata/roaming/something_that_probably_resembles_Rock_Raiders

I'm going to assume you somehow missed the roaming folder.

Also, did you actually SAVE yet?

If that folder doesn't exist, your installation failed.

Now, does the folder exist but it's empty? Or does it just plain not exist?

So, in game, if you choose to load a save, you are able to choose to play from one of your saves and it will work?

Ok then.

Search for this file:

5.osf

Or,

5.sav

When you find a folder with files similar to these two in name, you've found your saves folder.

I think I've found it, it's in C:\Users\*Name*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\LEGO Media\Games\Rock Raiders\Data\Saves.

So you were close to suggest roaming, thanks :)

Why the heck is it in your AppData O.o?

I dunno, I have a later version reissued by "Revival" (owned by Focus Mulitmedia), so that might have something to do with it, but then again I remember that on my old XP computer they were in the data folder. :S

...Vista and win 7, that's why.

If I'm not mistaken, it's due to all of the security 'improvements'.

Windows plops the files generated by the programs in Program files into the corresponding appdata folder.

The 'solution' would be one of these two:

Run RR as admin, or change ownership of the entire hard drive to your account.

I use the second one, so I can testify it works.

Wait, what problem? I found the save files, that what I was looking for. :P

I didn't mean problem; I meant why I don't have anything in AppData.

I have made "Save Sets" because at one point there were three (now it's only two) computers with LRR and I needed to move save files from one to the other.

Woah, never knew that folder existed 8S

Anyway, glad to have helped! :D

I've known of its existance for years.

Hmm, that makes me wonder if there is a RR screen shot folder.

Maybe the devs had a screenshot function in their early builds so they could take press shots. Karl might remember something, but I wouldn't be surprised if they just used Print Screen.

Also, I don't worry about saves anymore because we know of -testlevel's existence. If it were possible to get 100% in every level, I could see the need to keep saves.

...*sigh*

I've had to go over this so many times...

If you use XP or lower, look under Data in the Install Folder

If you use Vista or 7:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\LEGO Media\Games\Rock Raiders\Data

Replace Program Files onwards with where installed.

something needs to be put in the FAQ about this.
