I don't know why I never noticed this -- I guess I never poked around in the options before -- but IXS has resolution settings that go as high as 1280x1024. No matter what resolution I choose, however, it stays in 640x480; the screen flashes a bunch, pretends it's doing something, then just flips back. Interestingly, the option I chose remains selected, even though it doesn't match the actual resolution. Anyone else have this problem, or have any suggestions?

Nope. I do not experience this. Unfortunately, I do not have any suggestions either. Sorry.

It lets you select screen resolutions higher than your monitor actually supports, and when you do, it does that. Try bumping it down a notch or two.

I think pretty much all monitors these days support the highest resolution that IXS does.

There's two laptops in the household that don't, including the one I'm using right now.

Nah, my laptop goes up to 1366x768. Plus, I tried changing it to all the other resolutions as well; even in 800x600 it refuses to change.

Uh, the max res of 1280x1024 doesn't fit on a 1366x768 screen... So yeah, your screen's too small for the highest res, vertically.

Additionally, once you've tried setting the game to a res the monitor doesn't support, not only does it revert to whatever the resolution was when the game was launched without going back to that resolution in the menu, but it completely locks to the resolution it was at when the game launched. You then have to restart the game to be able to actually adjust it.

The result is that, for example, if you're at 1024x768 (second highest available res), try to bump it up to 1280x1024 (max res) but your monitor is too small, the game will be get confused and lock itself to 1024x768 until you restart it; it will even stay at that initial res if you try to lower it to 800x600 or 640x480 without restarting it first.

Silly me, I didn't read it closely enough and thought it was 1280x768. And yeah, that's also the reason that I couldn't get it to switch to any other resolutions either. So I can get it to 1024x768 now, thanks.

I'll read more carefully in the future.
