Quadrupedal Mech

Entry posted

This is both my largest creation so far (602 bricks, a modest amount, but still...) and my first 100% original creation.

reconmech.png

Originally I intended to do a "spider-tank", but after I finished it I realized I never gave it any weapons, so I stuck a dish on top and called it a recon unit.

Only the one image, since I can't upload en masse right now.

I... do have more to say about this model, but I don't want to go too in-depth right now. Don't have time.

You like?

If the .lxf is released, I'd like to do a cover build of this.

I actually just came up with the term on the spot. Just like a cover song to music, a cover build is a recreation of another's MOC in one's own style.

Reminds me of the Spider Ride from LEGOLand,

I was hoping for an EVA/Gundam type mech. Nonetheless, it looks pretty good.

It reminds me of Quadraxis from Metroid Prime 2.

I made one for doing heavy transport.

So, on reflection, this is actually a lot better than some other works I've seen. Although, I still would have liked to see a bipedal mech.

Sure, is there a decent file sharing site I could upload it too?

And do you want it in red (shown) or green?

EDIT: Or I could just e-mail it to you, I guess. Whichever works.

It reminds me of Quadraxis from Metroid Prime 2.

:D

<3 that game. And now that you mention it, I also see the resemblance.

I'm glad to hear that!

Maybe I'll do a biped sometime. Personally I prefer less humanoid machines, but i'll still give it a shot.

It looks too heavily armored to not have weapons...

Other than that, it looks great!

When you put something in the hands of an idiot, you can never have enough armor on it, as the idiot will run into things a lot.

I was amused by this.

In all seriousness, though, armor does not always equate combat.

For example, take those armored trucks that are used to transport large amounts of money or other sensitive materials.

I do agree, though, that this design is better suited for combat than for recon (to large and obvious) or transport (no cargo room).

I'll probably alter it into a combat vehicle.

I've also made several more (much smaller) vehicles, designed to be part of the same "theme" as this one, which I'll be posting soon.

It's a Quadrupedal Prototype With No Designated Function Other Than To Look Cool.

But one day it will grow up to be a beautiful tank :D
