Placks

As opposed to plucks, which I used the first (and last) time in Evo Hummer.

Rather than use Audacity's pluck midi, I took some tones and messed around with them.

I made this simple piece just today. I still would not listen to it unless I was doing something else though.

It is also the first piece with a tempo change. (The change about two thirds of the way through.)

Hm... Audacity is pretty limited for writing complex music. I highly recommend downloading and using Anvil Studio. You can then export your work and add some effects in Audacity.

It would help if I had a more musical mind. And better knowledge of the harmonics of instruments.

On the same token, though...

Anvil Studio seems to have pretty primitive synthetic instruments. At least, as far as sound goes.

Then again, it IS free, and the only other option is to have GarageBand on a Mac. And who would do that???

That can be fixed by installing BASSMIDI and using a soundfont with better synth leads. Anvil uses whatever your MIDI drivers tell it to, which means that if you just have the default drivers that come with Windows, you're going to have the default instruments too.
