I Need A Game Suggestion.

Before you start shouting "GET BATTLEFIELD" or "GET SKYRIM", take a look at the games I already have and what's in my wishlist. http://steamcommunity.com/id/40KEndgame/games?tab=all http://steamcommunity.com/id/40KEndgame/wishlist/

Based on what you see in my collection and in my wishlist, what can you recommend to me? If you need more information, I'm into shoot-em-ups (vertical scroll, horizontal scroll or 3D into-the-screen), Racing (competitive arcade and simulation), Strategy (turn based and real time), fighters (2D fighting games preferred), ship command, Run-and-gun team based FPS, and some RPGs (Trun based and some JRPGs). I'm undecided about hack-n-slash games, and prefer to avoid games that are nothing but a technology showcase. Construction Sandbox games are cool, random crime games aren't (and I won't even touch Grand Theft Auto with a 39 and 1/2 foot pole). Not much of a platforming fan. Multiplayer is a must, competitive multiplayer is recommended, bonus points if competitive multiplayer is the main mode (although not if it's the only mode - even a Munchkin like me needs to be able to take a break once in a while). Games like Mass Effect do not catch my interest. City Builders are hit-or-miss for me (and fun, I've already played Sim City 4). I try to avoid life simulators, and I will NEVER play an MMO.

Finally, it can't break the bank.

Something tells me I'll get a bunch of recommendations for what I said I don't like...

Skyrim. Skyrim pretty much fits almost all those categories.

My suspicions were spot on.

I would reccomend KOTOR and Terraria, based on personal experience.

Although, KOTOR has no multiplayer.

KotOR II: The Sith Lords. It might not have multiplayer, but if you add TSLRCM and a couple texture packs (and wait for M4-78EP, Malachor VI: An Ending Mod and the The GenoHaradan (all of which increase the game time and the depth of the story)), you'll have a gaming experience you'll never, ever forget.

I'll have to check Terraria out, but...

As I said before...

Multiplayer is a must

I hate going up against AI opponents. Either the AI isn't a decent test of skill, or it just cheats. TF2 is somewhat an exception...

TF2 gives you exceptions (errors).

Well, be it on your own head, but I hate going up against people. They're either much more skilled than you (so you never win), or they're whiny 13 year olds who you can't kill without threat of being screamed at.

If that's the case, you're playing the wrong multiplayer games. You do run into the former on occasion in TF2, but the young kids I've encountered on TF2 were actually pretty good (Either almost as good as me or maybe a little better than me).

I've been playing a lot of TF2 recently, thanks to my friend getting Steam, and if we go into online servers, it's all I hear.

Hmmm... you need something beefy in that list. Almost all of them are casual games.

Fallout or Deus Ex

That is all.

EDIT:

ship command

ORLY? *winks at addictgamer* He knows what i'm talking about... :P

Once again (and if anyone else suggests something that doesn't fit this I will go into a rant about it):

Multiplayer is a must

Also, I disagree with using a game to impress people.

In addition, several of the games in my library only look casual on the surface. Most of them are actually quite competitive and serious (Trackmania, Metal Drift, Chessmaster: Grandmaster Edition, and don't ever call Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 a casual game or you'll be absolutely destroyed in online multiplayer).

Also, until I actually play them ignore the Half Life games.

I saw your wishlist...

PORTAL 2 at #1.

GET PORTAL 2. I need someone to play Co-op with.

I would if I had that kind of money right now. $29.99 USD is a lot for me at the moment.

Maybe once I cash a few checks I have lying around...

Well, i am new here so i think you won't even look at my post. You could look out for the RC racing game Re-volt. I can bet you that it's fun and multiplayer is also possible.

I actually have a ROM of that game. A little tidbit of info - Simulator mode is not accurate to the handling of hobby-grade RC.

As for being ignored because you're new... that doesn't happen here on RRU.

Try the PC version of Re-volt since it's the most polished version of the game. Since it is abandonware, you can download it from anywhere and it won't be illegal. Simulation mode is a little difficult because of realistic collisions but most of the people prefer arcade mode. Upto you though. :)

No, the new members usually post maybe 5 times in total and just leave, never to be seen again :P
