Hi there once again,

seems like I already posted yesterday... Wait... I DID post yesterday!

If this goes on I might end up posting these things on a daily basis, not that anyone would read my entries ;)

So it´s not christmas but it´s time for my second gift to the community of rru!

Once again I present you a new track featuring the dark ambient atmosphere deep underground.

The Second Gift

Name: RR - Deep Underground

Please consider this to be the second experiment using various synthesizers because that`s what it is... My second track featuring multiple synthesizers! :P

You are free to redistribute this track, use it for your own projects in any way you like BUT you are not allowed to sell it or gain any money using this track.

I might end up doing an entire album for the Community just in case you like the music and the ideas keep coming!

So far we have:

RR - Crystal Clear

RR - Deep Underground

I would be delighted to hear/read your feedback, comments, hints and suggestions!

Cheers,

Masterchief

PS: AddictGamer this track is the special gift to ORR! :docs: Good luck!

Very nice :D

Feedback:

I think the first three notes should have repeated once more before the drums started. It seemed too abrupt...Although...That might not be better :/ I don't know. Experimentation is key I guess.

Anyway, I like it. Thanks :)

You are right I will consider this next time, and I might redo this track one more time! :D

I found it a bit empty, so I added some sounds from LRR to your track to give the feel that there is something there.

I think the bells are too strong or the instruments behind them are too soft. I could tell there was something else there but I could barely hear it. See if you can make the bells less dominant and I think this would have more impact.

Ignore Tracker. He's clearly insane. Here's a word of advice I think I got off of Argiflex some time ago.

Just have fun making music. It doesn't have to sound good, it just has to be fun to make. Though sounding good is an obvious plus. I don't know if you've been making music long enough to know this, but I don't care. Argiflex can probably help you out if he's not busy with something. He usually seems to be on FB.

EDIT: For the record, I don't make music (but would like to learn how to play the piano at some point).

@Tracker: You are free to remix it and btw I like the beginning.

@Cirevam: Advice taken. I will do so and as tracker mentioned it is a littlebit to empty in the long run.

@TheDoctor: Thank you very much! If I ever have to go to the doctor we might meet at your office! THX for the nice advice I tend to do things as long as they make fun.

@songs being 'empty': It's called ambient. Not all music needs an 'active' sound. Probably for this game ambient is a good idea, as opposed to a first person shooter where something else would be appropriate. Ambient is good. It's less distracting than something trying to make itself known.

@me: Not a medical doctor :D

@songs being empty & doc's reply to that: I agree and disagree. I believe some of the tracks should be ambient, while others should be 'active'. The right balance works wonders in a game. I, for one, have 'never' been able to write an ambient song. Quoting my teacher: "Did you eat jalapeno while writing this song?" As said, a game, specifically this one, needs a good mix of ambient and 'active' songs.

And blarg.

Hey, I had to conclude this SOMEHOW.

Personally I think you should encode directly to FLAC. But that is just my opinion.

You are right. BTW I am encoding my new tracks directly to MP3 to save diskspace.
