Beyond The Horizon And A Gift To The Rru Community!

Hi there once again!

It has been a busy time for me and there's still a lot to do for me before I get ready for christmas (you know you keep doing your normal stuff and then.. one morning you wake up and it's Christmas time!!! ... And I always forget to do a lot of stuff I wanted to finish BEFORE Christmas), so that's the reason why I want to share something with you.

Thanks to my Keyboard and my VST Collection I can't stop making music, eh it's not my job to create and write music but I really enjoy doing it.

So I wanted to inform you that I uploaded my newest orchestral video to youtube. It's called Beyond the Horizon

and you might take a look for it here. (Well I would be pleased!)

The next thing is: I have a gift for you! Yes for you! If you can read this, you have to be a member of the Rock Raiders Community and if you read my blog you might as well be interested in modding Lego Rock Raiders, well I love to play the game and I really enjoy the music but... Ok, you know what comes next (I bet that addictgamer knew it before I wrote this article! ).

Oh and Lair... I am sorry but I don't think it's epic ;) Well I promise you that I will create something very special for you!

So back to the gift:

My newest track called: RR - Crystal Clear

You can download it from the attachment.

I give this track to you as a gift. You might use it in free or commercial projects, alter it, etc. but you are not allowed to sell it.

This track is very special as it consists only of synthesizers as I tried to catch the atmosphere and feeling of the original game music and yes you might aswell create a mod using this track but please consider this to be an experiment. I am not used to synthesizers and I didn't try to match any of the original themes.

Everybody who listens to it will agree that it is a littlebit darker than the originals.

So enjoy your gift!

Cheers,

Masterchief

@Lair and addictgamer: I am working on the epic track... for 6 weeks now and I am pretty close to finish it so please stay tuned! :)

When I opened up the gift and listened to it, I was amazed.

I'm just going to let you know, I think I'll use this in the soundtrack of ORR. It makes for great ambiance down in those deep, dark caves :)

Actually, I have some feedback on the song:

Sometimes the wawawa (as best I can describe it) - actually, nevermind. That adds more mystery to the song. Good one :) Thanks :)

What if I come up with a program that sells it and gives ALL of the money to you?

Then you become worse than a door to door salesman trying to sell vacuum cleaners. Besides, this isn't a commercial venture. He's not asking for money and not asking for a salesman.

Masterchief: I can't listen to it right now, but will probably hear it next time I compile ORR :P

@Cirevam: Thank you very much, always a pleasure!

@addictgamer: I would be delighted to hear the track while playing ORR! I am going to post a new gift for YOU and your ORR Project very soon, in about... 20 Minutes!

@Tracker: Well as TheDoctor kindly implied I do not tend/wish or ask to sell this song and I mentioned in my entry that you are free to use this song in any way BUT you are not allowed to redistribute it by taking money for it. Nevertheless I thank you very much for the opportunity but I don´t think this track would sell well cause it's specially designed for the RR Universe.

@TheDoctor: I would be delighted to read your feedback but don´t expect to much, it was the first time ever that I used synthesizers!

It was a bit "bland" anyways, something that could be dealt with by application of well timed, well tuned tones of the correct type (Sine, Sawtooth, Square).

@Tracker: I appreciate your feedback even in case you imply that it is boring. And even then I agree. It sounds bland cause it was made for a game. This does not mean that game music is bland but it`s the composer's job to write music that assists the game and doesn't dominate it until you are writing a dancing game... I am not a composer and this was my first try using these synths so once again I appreciate your feedback and I will try to make it better over time.

@addictgamer: It's online!
