Paintball Anybody?
last friday i bought my MR4 and some assorted paintball gear. My thoughts (im pretending you people care)
Kingman Spyder MR4 Military Sims Semi-Auto Paintball Marker :
it has a 5 star rating on amazon and by the look and feel of it, it deserves it. its got all the things you want in a good semi-auto marker you could want without breaking the bank. more picatinny rails than you really need, an offset hopper, stock (although not to good of one), a good sized ported barrel. a bit heavy and i would definatly recomend a remote line to keep the gun a little less weighty, but other than that, all else seems to be relying on the feild test this saturday. that will be the true judgement call for the gun.
recomended upgrades are:
a grip - not for most, but i got some long arms.
remote line - its really heavy as it is. go with the extreme rage as mentioned below
red dot sight - a friend of mine bought one, and i really liked the way it performed so im thinking about getting me one myself. im really cheap thoughgo walmart
stock - i want one, but i dont want the mil-sim sliding stocks... just something light and lower.
5 Star and its well worth $129 that i paid.
(coppied from my Amazon review)
3Skull 6+1 Paintball Harness Ammo Pack
for starters its very well made and the stitching and material seems very sturdy. but its only got one small strap across your waist. one on the top of it, not centered to keep a good center of balance and it flops around bad when you run. (even if you tighten it very tight) also, im a pretty big guy 6'4" at 230 lbs... but this thing is really wide. it increases my profile way to much, 4 or so inches on each side. i thought the horizontal pods wouldnt be to wide but i was wrong. got with vertical pod holders, i'll keep it and sell it off at my next game if i can.
bottom line, im definatly not going to play speedball with this [harness] and i dont know if im going to use it with woodsball or not. i wouldnt recomend it at all...
Pure Energy N2 Compressed Air Tank (48ci/3000psi):
the good, the bad, the ugly
its HPA, its steel, and its really heavy. simple enough. it does its job and what more can you ask
Extreme Rage Deluxe Heavy Duty Coil Remote:
out of the box i said dam this thing is really heavy... a little stiff, but i think it will do great after a few uses. i feel safe with this high quality line holding 3000 PSI under my arm.
VFORCE Profiler SE Thermal Paintball Mask:
Mmmm.... feels nice... well for like the five minutes i put it on it did. anyway, i got this right after i had to leave for work and riding up to a military instalation testing out your new paintball mask is not highly recomended. haha, anyway, im looking forward to this, and im really looking forward to playing with it.
BOTTOM LINE:
Im 6'4' 230lbs, and i dont mind carrying a little extra weight. and im using this for woodsball and senareo games mind you. but for those that dont i dont think you should go with such a heavy set-up. its heavy and the big MR4 is a little long. but so was carring around a balistic plate vest in afganistan (for like the 3 times i acctually had to wear the thing, haha), and that wasnt to bad. anywho, i play woodsball and senario ball, and im really looking forward to how well my setup will perform in the field. except the harness mind you... im probly going to ditch that for better one.
