I didn't hear much of a difference. The parts that I did hear really improved the song.

Well that's caused by the fact that there is no musical difference, just elemental. I removed the female vocals and added some percussion to put emphasis on the emotional parts. But in general you can say: There isn´t much of a difference between them. Stay tuned I will compose something new this evening, that will definitly sound different!

PS: Well you could say that this is the version I had in mind when I composed it yesterday. Today I finished my work and now I am satisfied with the result. ;)

I "merged" both with a ~20.5 second delay with this being the "first" and got something that I would not be surprised to find out that this is closer to what you meant.

It just finished and it sounded like, well, a sad battle soundtrack.

Note that this isn't the first such YouTube remix using multiple browser windows that I did with the track. I really do think a little playing around with this could get many good things out of it.
