So I decided to go ahead with it, I'm starting to put together a texture pack for Minecraft using the LRR textures.

I've been resizing them down to 16x16 and it actually looks surprisingly good.

I've still got to edit them to tile vertically but that shouldn't be too hard.

Another issue is what goes where. For example, the 'Dirt' texture from LRR makes a crappy MC dirt texture, so I used 'Soil/Cavern Floor' instead. I tried using loose rock for cobblestone but it looks bad, same with rubble as gravel, but I think I can fix that one.

But more to the point of this blog, I need more. The textures in LRR are not diverse enough to cover all of the materials in MC. I need Grass, I need bricks.

So what I need, is textures from OTHER Lego games. I know that they have been extracted, as people are messing around with them, but I don't have any other then the LRR ones.

So could someone provide me with the textures/tools to extract them?

the Racers and Island games are top priority, but if they don't cover everything I guess we'll have to move on to others. Eh.

There is a LEGO racres extractor-thing for download, I'll download that later. I'm not sure how to use UNGTC, and if there are extractors for the other game I couldn't use them because I lack the games themselves.

It would be much easier to just have someone send me the textures themselves.

You can download the LR textures in a topic by Cyrem actually, somewhere in the forum (modding discussion I think).

 

I can help you with getting the LR2 textures, and if there are extractors for LI/LI2 I can do those too :thumbsup: However seeing as I'd have to rip them I don't know how long it'll take, depends on how many you want.

Nope. Nobody has cracked the SI archives yet.

LI2, we have legomoe's extractor ('?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>), and while textures are in TGA and some other unknown format, I'm not sure if there are 100% TGA versions (someone else may know).

So I just tried ripping the textures from LR2 and 3D Ripper crashes every time I launch it. I've tried running as an admin, fiddling around with settings, etc...

 

I'll try it on our Windows 7 PC and see if that works.

Er, why did you do this, again? Grab UNGTC or >Will's Developer Mode Patcher, get a copy of XnView (I recommended XnViewMP; I use it myself), and browse the Textures folder in it. MIPs = TGA image (though there are three, I believe Will found, standard (meaning not-custom) variants of the format in there. Either make a copy and change the .MIP to .tga for editing or use the Save As option in XnViewMP to convert it to a different format, boom texures from LEGO Racers 2.

I have done that already - the textures are all rainbow coloured. Unless XnView somehow fixes that, or I'm looking in the wrong folders.
