The cycle of life and 12-year-olds-attempting-game-development continues...

sorry, as i was saying... but that is a non for profit game. this will be the new baby in the series that will come packaged with a box, a manual and a CD-ROM for install, and a CD-ROM for play (obviously!). but yes, this is a lol coincidence.   :D

You know how many projects I had in mind at 12? Almost all of them never got to completion.

I hope you will have that perseverence for this project. Do you already have a concept (storyline/model) for the game?

I'm actually talking about another fan-made game called Lego Island 3

Yes, I have a very basic outline of the game and I might even use some ideas from other games in no way related to LEGO as a reference, or as a basic idea for when I get incredibly stuck for ideas, like now. But yes, I do have one.

Funny, how there are now 3 people on here who want to make a Lego Island fangame.

errr.... sort of. I just felt very sad that nobody developed lego island any more and I felt that if everyone sat around playing monopoly or something, then I had to take action. This will hopefully be better LI2,LXS, and LI1 combined. The cost will be around $36

My version would be free and open-sourced, so it could be modded.

I'm surprised by your determination on this project. Then again, motivation is necessary for it., but already having a price in mind for the game? On what is that price based?

This will hopefully be better LI2,LXS, and LI1 combined.

*nostalgia speaking* No sequel will ever be better than LI1!

True, it will, somehow, support modding, but this will be an actual game you buy from game or a games shop. like mafia 2 or the sims

agreed, but in graphics, mindscape had problems. The best I could do is improve the graphics and a similar story.

Allow me to explain the issue you'd have, in the most relaxed way I possibly could explain.

If you tried to sell it instead of make it non-profitable, LEGO would be very outraged, because you aren't the creator of the Lego Island franchise.

And I'm sure that you probably don't want a lot of problems on your hands.

To be fair I was much better at finishing massive projects when I was 12 than I am now...everything I made was terrible but at least I could finish stuff then. It's good that you realise something like this is going to take a long time, but can you honestly see yourself still working on this in 10 years? Even if you do finish it, I think trying to sell it it actual games shops is a bit ambitious. Ignoring the fact that such shops may not exist in 10 years, that's not how it works. LEGO would destroy you if you tried to publish this game for profit. I've always dreamed of seeing a finished LEGO Island fangame but I'll be close to 30 by 2023 and I'm not sure I'll still be playing LEGO games then. I barely pay them now.

So how did they release it, then?
